I’m so glad you’re here.
Hi y’all. My name is Casandra and I’m a broommaker based out of south Texas. I began learning by myself, but one of the things I love most about folk craft is that nothing can replace learning from the hands of a mentor. I travelled to Appalachia to study with Cynthia Main of Sunhouse Craft, and at the end of our time together, she said to me, “You should do this.”
So, I did. In 2022, Sisterwolf was born.
Working with my hands is my portal to the divine. Folk craft and folk magic are one and the same. While I do not assign use to any of my brooms, my hope is that using a handmade broom will help you cultivate a closer, more reciprocal and fruitful relationship with your home and it’s spirit. Ritualizing our everyday tasks is the essence of domestic magick.
When I’m not making brooms, I’m making other things for people I love, like bread and sweaters. I also dangle things in front of my cats, and try to pet and/or kiss your dogs. Floating in water, walking in nature, going to shows, lifting weights, and buying myself flowers are also top of the list.
My work, and this space, has been, and always will be, anti-fascist, anti-racist, pro-trans, and pro-queer. No war but class war. We help Us.
xo, Casandra
